Tooth whitening also known as bleaching, is a dental procedure which corrects tooth discolorations. In cases of extreme tooth discoloration, crowns or veneers may be choice.
An impression is taken to make a specialized "mouthguard" or "stent" to hold the bleach against the teeth. The material is used each night for about 3-4 hours for a week or two, and at the end of this time, significant whitening will occur.
Some people may experience temporary increased tooth sensitivity to cold that can be treated using a fluoride gel. We provides this fluoride gel as part of the customized tooth whitening treatment. These symptoms disappear within one to three days after completion of the treatment. Tooth whitening is not recommended for children under 13 years of age, or women who are pregnant or lactating.
