Cosmetic Dentistry
Cosmetic dentistry deals with the aesthetics of the smile. Unfortunately, not everyone
is born with a perfect smile. That’s where cosmetic dentistry comes in. At Stoma Advanced Dental Care,
we pride ourselves on providing patients with great smiles that are healthy and
attractive as well. There are plenty of ways that we can achieve these goals, and
we’d like to go over some of them briefly below.
Dental Problems that Cosmetic Dentistry Can Address
Any aesthetic issue that you may be experiencing with your smile can be addressed
through cosmetic dentistry. This includes slightly uneven teeth or crooked teeth,
tooth decay, yellow teeth or stained teeth, chipped teeth, cracked teeth, and damaged
teeth.

Teeth Whitening
Tooth whitening, formerly known as bleaching, is a dental procedure that can be
used to correct many tooth discolorations. Just about anyone can benefit from tooth
whitening. However, treatment may not be as effective for some as for others. We
can determine if you are a candidate for this procedure.
Stoma Advanced Dental Care uses the latest in whitening technology to offer a safe method for creating
a beautiful smile. In cases of extreme tooth discoloration, crowns or veneers may
be the only choice. But, because of the low cost of whitening treatments, whitening
is nearly always worth a try.
Braces
Stoma Advanced Dental Care recommends that mal-aligned or mal-positioned teeth must be aligned first
before any cosmetic treatment like veneers, crowns etc begin.
Orthodontic treatment not just straightens your teeth but improves bite, jaw joint
articulation and periodontal health.
Open Bite Corrected by Orthodontic Treatment
Patients who have dental and facial irregularities should be cared for by an Orthodontist.
Our specific qualifications in the design, application and control of corrective
appliances will bring teeth, lips and jaws into proper alignment for optimal facial
balance.
Bonding
Bonding is a great procedure for correcting teeth that are chipped, gapped, or discolored.
It is one of the easiest and most conservative cosmetic dental procedures for repairs,
and it is done by applying a tooth-colored composite resin to the teeth.
Dental bonding can be done in a single dental visit, making it a popular choice
for many patients. At Stoma Advanced Dental Care we provide dental bonding for patients who need to repair
a fractured or chipped tooth, close an unwanted gap(s) between teeth, and improve
the appearance of discoloration of a tooth or multiple teeth. Little preparation
is needed for dental bonding, and it is a virtually pain free procedure.
Dental Bridges
A bridge may be used to replace missing or damaged teeth, help maintain the shape
of your face, and alleviate stress on your bite. A bridge replaces missing teeth
with artificial teeth, looks great, and literally bridges the gap where one or more
teeth may have been. They also promote the health of the entire mouth by preventing
decay and the demineralization of the jaw bone where the tooth is missing. Your
bridge can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials,
and is bonded onto surrounding teeth for support.
The success of any bridge depends on its foundation — the other teeth, gums, or
bone to which it is attached. Therefore, it's very important to keep your existing
teeth, gums, and jaw healthy and strong.
Crowns
Dental crowns are tooth shaped "caps" that are placed over teeth in order to restore
its shape, size, strength, and/or to improve its appearance. Crowns are most often
used for teeth that are broken, worn, or partially destroyed by tooth decay. They
are made of either metal or porcelain.
Stoma Advanced Dental Care offers crowns specifically made for each patient and are color matched to
the other natural teeth for the most attractive appearance. We look forward to serving
you and helping you to restore your smile and your confidence.
Implants
An implant is a synthetic tooth root in the shape of a post that is surgically placed
into the jawbone. The "root" is usually made of titanium: the same material used
in many replacement hips and knees, and a metal that is well suited to pairing with
human bone. A replacement tooth is then fixed to the post. The tooth can be either
permanently attached or removable. Permanent teeth are more stable and feel more
like natural teeth.
The ideal candidate for implants is a non-smoker who has good oral health, including
a sufficient amount of bone in the jaw, and healthy gums with no sign of gum disease.
Veneers
Dental veneers are thin shells that are bonded to the front surface of the teeth
in order to aesthetically improve their appearance. We use the highest quality dental
veneers to improve the appearance of discolored, worn down, misaligned, or chipped
teeth. Dental veneers are a simple enhancement that have dramatic results, by completely
transforming your smile and make an uneven smile look even.
Veneers are virtually undetectable and highly resistant to coffee, tea, or even
cigarette stains. Because they are thin, light can shine through them and they take
on the natural colour of the underlying tooth.
